£150 of Amazon Gift Cards for My Blog Readers!

amazon-gift-cardHappy days – we’re slowly getting closer and closer to Christmas, which means just one thing – it’s that time of the year where I have my readers only contest which gives YOU the chance to grab £150 worth of Amazon gift cards!

And this year the contest is more important than ever before. Why? Because there are now more than 250 articles/guides published on this blog and it’s becoming extremely difficult for me to come up with new articles to write for you. So I really hope you’ll lend me a hand here and submit lots of content ideas I can then work on in 2016.

So, how does this work and what do you need to do to enter the contest?

Just like the last year, I’m giving away a total of £100 in gift cards to 5 people, so £20 each, and the rules are super simple – all you have to do is leave a comment below this post with at least one topic suggestion for a future blog post. As easy as that! It can be a question or general topic suggestion – pretty much anything that you would like to see me write about on this blog.

PLUS this year there will also be a 6ft gift card to win, worth £50! This one will go to the person with the most interesting and valuable comment.

Here are a few examples to get you going:

  • What is Taobao? (This is actually a topic I already plan to cover early next year, so stay tuned!)
  • What is the best graphics editing software for an eBay business?
  • How to verify a supplier based in India?
  • How much does it cost to start an online shop?
  • A step by step guide to selling on Amazon!
  • Freight forwarders – what are they and how do they work?
  • Best thermal label printers reviewed!
  • And so on!

Even if you can’t come up with such specific questions, you can simply suggest general topics which you would like to learn more about, such as:

  • eBay listing creation
  • Product pictures
  • Email marketing
  • SEO
  • Importing from China
  • Accounting for eBay
  • And so on!

It doesn’t have to be just one topic or one question of course – the more ideas you can give me, the better! As I said, it is becoming very difficult to find topics I haven’t yet covered so your help here is greatly appreciated! I still want to do 2 weekly posts next year (plus our weekly Q&A post) and this means that I need at least 100 topics to write about, so I need your help!! (more…)

Final Warning: Trademark Scams On The Rise!

trademark-scamsA few months ago I posted an article detailing a common scam attempted when you submit a trademark application with IPO UK. The scam is that you are sent a physical letter via post that is made to look like an invoice from the trademark registration authority:

Alright, I should probably point out that technically (by law) these are not a scam as if you read the small print very carefully you can see that they do mention that the fee you pay is for them to add you to their private directory and that’s it. They don’t actually claim that it has anything to do with your trademark application with IPO UK, which would then make it fraud and illegal.

In my personal opinion, that’s a lot of rubbish and I consider these letters to be a scam 100%. After all, there is no value at all in being registered on their “private database” and the whole formatting of the letter is designed to try and trick people into thinking it’s an official invoice that you need to pay to process your application.

But enough on that, as if you read my previous post you already know my opinion of these “companies”. The question is why am I talking about this again?

Well in the last few weeks I have received a barrage of emails about various variations of this scam that have been attempted on my readers and clients. It seems as if this scam is taking off as it certainly wasn’t at this level before!

So that’s why I want to revisit this topic today and make sure you are aware that you DO NOT have to pay any money to these companies! You gain absolutely no benefit from doing so. (more…)

*** WARNING *** – Trademark SCAMS!!!

trademark-scamsI hope everyone is okay, and not struggling too much with the sudden heat we’ve been having!

Today I wanted to post a quick warning to people who are registering, or are thinking about registering, a trademark. There are many scams attempted around this process and, very recently, one of my 60 Day Blueprint students received what I call “a scamming attempt”:

scam-letter

Basically, here’s what happened – one week after my client submitted a trademark registration application, he received this letter that states that he has to pay 1370 EUR for his application to go through – to a bank account in Poland.

The letter was well formatted, coming from TPP – Trademark & Patent Publications.

If you check the small print and their website, basically they are doing nothing illegal – you pay that fee of 1370 EUR for your trademark to be included in their database. So technically it’s all within the law. (more…)

New Office – First iMac and £400 Electric Desks!

my-officeRegular readers of my blog will probably have noticed that over the last few months I haven’t been very active in terms of publishing new content, well at least not as active as I’d like.

But there was a very good reason for this – I spent July, August and September moving into a new office which took A LOT of time and energy (plus mental anguish!). We all know how it is with a move, and this one was no different – nothing went to plan and every schedule quickly went out the window.

Some of you may remember that early this summer, after finishing work on the brand new version of Easy Auction Business, I promised myself that I would spend the rest of the summer with my family, just take some time off and recharge myself for the new season.

If only life was that easy! ☺

I’ve had plans to expand for some time already, particularly as my new handmade greeting cards company needed more space for assembly work stations, warehousing etc.

And early in July, I received an offer to rent a bigger office space not far from our previous location. The offer was so good that I couldn’t resist and signed-on and as the new place needed some renovation I spent most of July and August on that, plus of course the actual moving process itself.

office-desk-1

office-desk-2

office-desk-3But nothing to worry about now as luckily this has all be done and we’ve been settled in our new office for a few weeks now, continuing with work as usual.

So in today’s blog post I wanted to share a few things with you that I have implemented in my office to improve productivity and in general – make the whole office routine more enjoyable and easier to handle.

‘Special’ Desks

electric-desk

The first new thing I wanted to bring to our office was height-adjustable desks. Mainly for health reasons of course as we all know how bad it is for you to sit down in front of a computer all day long. Also, keeping in mind that the employees for my new greeting card company need to work on various machines, I really wanted to offer them the best in terms of workspace ergonomics.

Now some of you may never have heard of them before so might now be wondering what on earth these height-adjustable desks actually are? Well basically they are normal desks with one important distinction – you can alter the height with the push of a button.

They have a special motor underneath the desk which is powered from the mains and a small up and down button panel screwed beneath the desk surface. (more…)

Easy Auction Business – Version 3.0 is HERE!

Yes, it’s finally happened, I have a new update for my best selling-eBay training program – Easy Auction Business Version 3.0 and basically; it’s a brand new course, created completely from scratch! Unlike previous years, this is not actually an update but a new course that covers even more topics than ever before and is fully updated with all the latest eBay rules and selling practices.

I have been working really hard for the last 6 months to get this course done before the summer. And with a slight delay of just a few weeks, I have finally finished and can now release the new course to the public.

This is a day to celebrate as I have created, what I believe to be, the world’s BEST eBay training program! If there is any course out there more extensive and in-depth than EAB 3.0 then I would really like to see it!

So what’s included in version 3.0? The course consists of 10 modules:

  1. First Things First
  2. Market Research
  3. Product Sourcing
  4. Branding
  5. Listing Creation
  6. Selling
  7. Customers
  8. Marketing
  9. Growing Your Business
  10. Final Words

Each module consists of several video lessons covering each topic in detail.

Following the very good feedback received in my recent launch of eCommerce Magnates, I have created all the videos in HD resolution (16:9 aspect ratio) and apart from the usual streaming option, you can also access the content via:

  • Downloadable videos (which you can watch on mobile devices at anytime)
  • PDF transcripts for each video (which you can print out and read and use to make notes)
  • MP3 audio files for each video (listen on your mobile phone or MP3 player)

Something BIG is Coming..

I’m Turning 30 today!

b-dayYep, today I turn 30… and I’m starting to feel old.

When you’re 20, you think that 30 will never come. But as we all know, time really flies by and you reach 30 sooner than you ever expected. But now I think – 30 is not that bad, when I’m 40 – then, yes, I really will be old, lol. I’m sure this will happen every 10 years until I’m really old (I mean 80+) and still feel too young for my age!

Do I feel 30 today? Yes actually, I do. As I don’t do things an 18 year old does anymore. I don’t go to clubs, do binge drinking or stay awake late at night just to watch a movie. When you have a family – a wife, 2 kids, a dog, and a house to watch, clubs somehow don’t seem that appealing anymore.

And that’s fine, I like 30. It’s nothing like 40, right?

I like to look back each December – to see what happened in the previous year, what goals I’ve achieved, what new experiences I have added to my lifelong portfolio but when I look back at the last 10 years of my life – there are so many things that has happened that I would need to write a book about it!

Don’t worry; I’ll leave the book part for now though. I don’t think a biography written by a 30 year old could be considered a real biography. There’s still time for that.

10 years ago I was an order picker in a Primark warehouse, renting a single room in a shared house.

warehouseBut I had that one big dream – to create my own business and become wealthy. Maybe not a millionaire but to make enough money to be happy and to support my desired lifestyle. (more…)
